Everyone was thrilled to be back to work this week with record-high temps hitting 63 degrees on Tuesday. What?!? We were just at minus 20F about a week ago (no, not exaggerating). Crazy stuff, but we'll take it, because we were able to get back to work!
The key challenge was getting lumber delivered. Chris and his dad, Basil, spent almost the entire previous weekend clearing and sanding the driveway. We waited breathlessly on Monday while the 2-wheel-drive Hancock Lumber truck painfully made its way up the hill. The truck got to within 50 feet of the site when it slid into a ditch. Arrgh! Luckily, after 2 hours of tractor-pulling, sanding and shoveling (and a few choice words), the lumber was delivered. Back in action!
I have to take a moment to thank Hancock Lumber in Bridgton. They have been extremely flexible and patient with us (we had a previous delivery that failed and they had to unload everything back at the lumberyard), and also had the best prices, by far. Big thanks to them.
