Roof rafters appearing

It's exciting to see the roof starting to take shape!

Below is a the view from the guest room. The window will come right up to the ceiling here, and then the room itself will have a sloped, cathedral ceiling. It's going to be nice! Ava's room will be similar with the same view.
Below is a picture of our very own, private ice-skating rink. Seriously. I'm thinking of getting a photo of me down here wearing my ice skates. It would be very doable. There is about 1.5" of solid ice all over the basement...the result of messy storms and thaws and freezes. We may have to revisit our original plan of staining the concrete down here and having that as our flooring. It may end up needing to be covered! The only good news is that the ice is evenly thick across the entire basement, a sign that the slab is nice and even.

Notice the lovely garbage bin that was being used as a water-collection basket - we had a rainstorm last week. By the time we got to it, the temperature had plummeted again and the entire garbage can is frozen solid, and frozen into the ice on the floor as well. What a mess!
