Upper Level Progress!

Miraculously, we had our first 5-DAY WEEK since, I think, November. Lots of progress was made as snowstorms held off for a full week (although it is snowing outside today as I write this).

Let's see...upper level deck (floor) was fully constructed and has been sheathed, north and south exposure walls framed and partially sheathed. Standing on the deck of the upper level is a breathtaking experience. The view is tremendous. Part of me wants to keep it as is...a large, flat "picnic area" where you have a panoramic 240 view of the mountains and lakes. Alas, something tells me that making that permanent with a flat roof would be a big mistake come next winter. We've had well over 12 feet of snow this year! Driving down the 1/2 mile driveway here feels like a car luge event, with straight walls of snow and ice on either side of truck.

But back to the house...don't get too fond of the placement of the windows because we're going to change some of them. Goes to show you that even with the fanciest computer models, you can end up making changes just because things don't "feel right" once you actually stand in the space.
