Our screen porch and deck were framed up just in time for the roofers to start work last week. They got the ice & water shield over the whole roof, which means the roof is now watertight (of course, there is still the small issue of the gaping holes where the windows have yet to be put in). The metal portion of the roof is going on this week. Other systems coming together: plumbers start Wednesday and the electrician on Thursday. Window installation will start later in the week. Things are moving right along!
Good thing the roof is now watertight...summer storms are starting to sweep across the valley from the west. It's easy to see them coming from our house as evidenced in the photo below:
Final note: Ava and I saw a female moose (cow) walking down the middle of our driveway as we drove down from a site visit. The cow turned and saw us and started trotting, then galloping (!) down the hill. She ran into the forest just as I was clicking my camera for a photo. Missed her! Oh well. Next time. They are definitely around. We had a visit from at least 2 moose one night recently - their tracks circled all around the house. One set of tracks was the huge guy again! Can't wait to see that one.
